Salt Lake City Public Library
[Salt Lake City]: 1991. Pen and ink drawing [23 cm x 30 cm] / [9" x 12"] on sketch paper with a perforated edge on the left side. Item #9540
Ink drawing of the south facade of the old Salt Lake City Public Library (now the Leonardo) that accompanied the Goodman article 'Library Building and the system behind it - have endured through tough times' from the Salt Lake Tribune (3/29/92) by Jack Goodman (1913-2003), the longtime author of the weekly column "City View" in the Salt Lake Tribune.
"And yet (unless they've been hiding things from us), the Main Library occupying the strategic corner of 500 South and 200 East opposite the refurbished City Hall continues to prove functional. Its exterior and interior seem as attractive as ever in these days when computers have replaced index cards and super-market style electronic scanners have replaced pencil-end date stompers once skillfully wielded by librarians of yore."
