Zion vs. Babylon

Manti, UT: True and Living Church of Jesus Christ of Saints of the Last Days, (c.1996). First Edition. 30pp. Duodecimo [21.5 cm] Lavender printed wrappers. Near fine. Item #919

“Based on the history of the Saints as they moved toward the 20th century, the building up of Zion got weaker, not stronger. The Celestial Laws and Zion building principles such as consecration and plural marriage were on the decline. The actions of the leaders and the people in moving away from Zion is, at best, a compromise toward lesser laws; at worst, it is an indication of the slide toward apostasy of the covenant people.” – pg.20-21

Fundamentalist tract from the 'TLC,' who's founder and former leader, James Harmston (1940-2013), claimed to be reincarnated Joseph Smith and the 'One Mighty and Strong.' Unlike other groups (AUB, FLDS, Kingstons, etc.), Harmston's claim of the Priesthood Keys, does not come from Woolley (via John Taylor), but directly from Adam, Abraham and Noah, and unlike other groups, the 'TLC' believes in reincarnation, which they have dubbed, "Multiple Mortal Probation's." Works from the 'TLC' are surprisingly uncommon.
