Masonic and Mormon Parallels: The Royal Arch

South Jordan, UT: Bear Hollow Books, 2021. First Edition. 24pp. Octavo [23 cm] Lavender printed wrappers. Fine. Item #7803

This edition was limited to 26 signed and lettered copies. This scholarly work is one of three works by Michael Homer dedicated to Mormon and Masonic parallels. "From the 1820s until his death in 1844, Joseph Smith incorporated striking Royal Arch Masonic legends and rituals into essential foundations of Mormonism. These included a gold plate narrative, the establishment of a High Priesthood, and washings and anointing. Perhaps the most dramatic innovation occurred when Smith introduced a new temple ritual in which grand key-words were revealed together with signs, handshakes, penalties and promises of exaltation."

Michael W. Homer is a trial lawyer who practices in state and federal courts. He has published four books, thirteen chapters in books, and over seventy articles, for which he has won numerous awards. He was appointed by the Italian Foreign Minister as Honorary Vice Consul of Utah in 2008 and as Honorary Consul in 2011.
