Exhaustive and comprehensive descriptive bibliography of all known Mormon parallels by the renowned antiquarian bookseller and academic, Rick Grunder. We have been acting as the distributor of these works on behalf of Bear Hollow Books and the estate of Hugh McKell - this is the last new set. We are unaware of any copies appearing on the used/secondhand market.
"For casual observers, the study of modern Mormon Parallels may feel like esoteric debate over occult magic and secret fraternal handshakes and ancient American nations descending from lost tribes of Israel. It all sounds colorful but exhausting: overextended, perhaps, by proponents too callow in their enthusiasm, or dismissed by traditionalists too ready with personal retorts. Supporters may defend Joseph Smith's synthesis as an integral whole, while critics might dismiss the whole for its weakest parts. If we would aspire to precision, on the other hand, with meaningful analysis, we must scrutinize patiently, one tiny segment at a time." - Rick Grunder.
