This map shows the '9 hour claim' of the Montana Mining Company, that previously was known as the Drum Lummon claim, that was a rich deposit, whose name change was due to litigation.
"The [Montana Mining] company is preparing to work the Nine-Hour claim, which adjoins the old Drum Lummon. New machinery is being hauled to the mine and it is believed that development will be vigorously prosecuted." - The Butte Miner (1897/12/19).
