"The genesis of the feline character, which makes its third appearance in my mystery novels in Skeleton Man, began years ago when I was trying to untangle the plot of The Ghostway. Since I was not thinking cats then, had never actually owned one (no one really OWNS a cat.), the incident seems to me, to provide an example of how the mystical Feline Spirit sometimes takes over." - opening paragraph.
