View of a Din'e woman wearing a squash blossom neckklace that incorporates American quarters and a Winchester plate. J.H. McGibbeny (1891-1970) was born in Philadelphia, and he spent his early years in the eastern U.S. He later moved west and attended the University of Arizona. He moved to Salt Lake City in the early 1930s and established himself as a photographer and writer on the Navajo and Hopi Indians, with some of his work appearing in ‘Arizona Highways’.
