Mailed envelope laid in, that may be addressed by Whittier, to the Pickard family in Amesbury, Mass. At head of the front of the envelope: "This is Whittier's own hand - writing sent to me when I purchased this book for you by Mr. Sam T. Pickard. H.N.P.(?)" Postmark dated Ma(?) 24, 188(?).
Illustrated with maps, drawings and photographs, including a double-page photograph at the center, 'Scene in Garden at Whittier's Funeral.'
