Ex-libris Will Bagley, with his notes, underlining, and, sticky notes, throughout, presumably for a revised edition. Signed by Bagley and Schindler on the title page. An updated edition of Morgan, Korns and Charles Kelly's work, 'West from Fort Bridger' that appeared as Utah Historical Quarterly volume 19 (1951) which contained some of the earliest Utah trail narratives: James Clyman, Edwin Bryant, Heinrich Lienhard and James Frazier Reed.

Will Bagley (1950-2021) wrote and edited more than twenty books on overland emigration, frontier violence, railroads, mining, and the Mormons. He lectured widely and had appeared in more than a dozen films, including the American Experience episode of the ‘The Mormons’ on PBS. He was one of the finest historians of the postwar period and a legend.
