The official program of the centennial celebration of the organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which took place in April 1930, marking exactly 100 years since Joseph Smith officially established the church on April 6, 1830. Led by then-Church President Heber J. Grant, the historic 1930 centennial featured a massive multi-day general conference, and historical pageants.. Heber J. Grant (1856-1945) was the seventh prophet and president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he held the position the second longest (26 years) behind only Brigham Young (30 years). He was known for guiding the Church through some of its toughest times including the Great Depression and World War II.
