This epic poem is the last in Neihardt's 'Cycle of the West' and is an ode to Wovoka and the Ghost Dance. John Neihardt (1881-1973) was a poet, writer and critic, who taught English at the University of Missouri from 1949 to 1965. He is the author of numerous works including 'Black Elk Speaks' and 'Eagle Voice Remembers'.
